In a recent comparison that has intrigued cricket enthusiasts worldwide, Pakistan's spin-bowling all-rounder, Imad Wasim, has chosen Babar Azam over Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli. This preference has added another layer to the ongoing debate concerning the superior all-format batter between the two.

Wasim's endorsement of Azam as the superior player came during a conversation with Cricket Pakistan, where he did not hesitate to express his admiration for the Pakistani captain.

 "I would go Babar Azam. He’s our nation’s pride... He has served Pakistan with dignity and pride for a long time." Wasim emphasized the importance of Azam to Pakistani cricket and his contributions, saying, "He's our pride."

Babar Azam, who is currently leading Peshawar Zalmi in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), has shown remarkable form, scoring impressively in his initial matches. 

Despite facing criticism for his performance in the recent Test series against Australia, Azam bounced back with notable performances in the T20I series against New Zealand and continued his form into the PSL.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli, celebrated for his batting prowess and for breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries, has been a cornerstone of the Indian cricket team across all formats for over a decade. 

Despite his current break from cricket for personal reasons, including welcoming his second child with his wife Anushka, Kohli's contributions and records speak volumes of his skill and dedication to the sport.
