As Jonny Bairstow gears up for his 100th Test match in Dharamsala against India, England's coach Brendon McCullum showers him with praises, signalling strong support despite the batter's recent struggles.

Bairstow, set to become the 17th Englishman to play 100 Test matches, has had a tough series, managing only 140 runs across seven innings. Yet, the milestone match presents a significant moment for both Bairstow and the team.

England's Head coach Brendon McCullum, speaking with enthusiasm, reflected on Bairstow's journey and the emotional weight of the upcoming game.

"Yes, he'll be playing his 100th Test. We expect a good Jonny. Jonny loves a milestone too. He won't shy away from that. He'll play," McCullum commented.

"It'll be emotional for him. Everyone knows Jonny's story and as you guys will know he is quite an emotional character at times and big milestones like that do mean a lot to him. It'll be an emotional time for him and we look forward to sharing it with him," McCullum added.

Despite a series is in India's bag with a 3-1 lead, Bairstow's potential innings in Dharamsala is highly anticipated.

His highest score of 38 in this series came during the Ranchi Test, hinting at the impact he could have when in form.

The England team, including captain Ben Stokes, stands firmly behind Bairstow, hopeful for a turnaround.
