Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has confirmed that Rishabh Pant is "definitely" going to be retained by the team ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. This announcement ends weeks of speculation surrounding Pant's potential move to another franchise.

Jindal also mentioned that while Pant's retention is certain, decisions about the rest of the squad will be made after thorough discussions with Sourav Ganguly, the team’s Director of Cricket.

Delhi Capitals' Potential Retentions Under Discussion Ahead Of I

Apart from Rishabh Pant, Jindal hinted at several other talented players who could be in the mix for retention. Players like Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar are some of the names being considered. 

"Yes, we definitely have to retain. We have some very good players in our team. The rules have just come out, so after discussing with GMR and our director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, decisions will be made," Parth Jindal told the media.

"Rishabh Pant will definitely be retained. We also have Axar Patel, who is excellent, Tristan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed, all very good players in our team," he further added.

Delhi Capitals have had a decent season last season where they finished sixth on the points table. However, they couldn't make it to the playoffs.

Under Rishabh Pant’s captaincy, the team have won seven matches but lost the same number. Ahead of the IPL 2025 season, the franchise is determined to build a winning squad and aim for their first-ever IPL title.

Rishabh Pant Shuts Down RCB Rumours

Recently, rumours started circulating that Rishabh Pant might be heading to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) due to a supposed vacancy in their captaincy. However, Pant quickly shut down these speculations. He took to his social media, refuting the claims and calling it "fake news."

In a fiery post, Pant urged people to be more responsible, reminding everyone of the damage misinformation can cause. He made it clear that he remains committed to Delhi Capitals and dismissed any connection with RCB.
