Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Anuj Rawat recently opened up about how interacting with the legendary Virat Kohli helped him revive his IPL 2023 campaign.
Rawat endured a horrible time during the first half of the season as he struggled to bat with the required tempo.
There were repeated calls from RCB fans to drop the inconsistent batsman, who was being deployed out of his familiar spot.
The calls grew louder when he struggled his way to a 22-ball 15 against the Delhi Capitals, but the RCB think-tank kept persisting.
Anuj finally came good in a must-win game against the Rajasthan Royals as he smashed an 11-ball 29 to guide his team to an eventual match-winning total.
In a recent interaction with Sportskeeda, the young batsman revealed how an interaction with Virat Kohli benefitted him immensely in the lead-up to that game.
"Before the RR game, I had asked Kohli for advice as I had played an innings where I took a lot of balls & scored very less runs, he exactly told me where I was wrong & give me a different perspective on how I should have executed the shots, it helped me", Anuj Rawat told Sportskeeda.
Rawat played another handy cameo of 15-ball 23 against the Gujarat Titans in what turned out to be the last match for the franchise in IPL 2023.
Overall, Anuj managed to score 91 runs in 7 innings, with his best performance coming in that game against RR.
