Mohammed Siraj bowled Team India to an effortless Asia Cup 2023 title win in Sri Lanka last week. His career-best bowling performance in the final dismantled the hosts, and earned him a number one spot on the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers.

Former South African captain AB de Villiers, who spent four seasons with Siraj at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) camp, hailed the speedster for his recent success and for his fast-bowling attributes.

AB de Villiers says Siraj has this perfect quality of a fast bowler

AB de Villiers, who announced his retirement from franchise cricket in 2021, praised his ex-RCB teammate Mohammed Siraj after the latter guided India to another Asia Cup title in a lop-sided final.

The former South African captain hailed Siraj for his resolute determination, claiming that his “never give up attitude” is a perfect quality any fast bowler can have. Taking to his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers said:

“Mohammed Siraj is just incredible, the stand out thing about him is the never give up attitude - he is in your face and it's a perfect quality for a fast bowler.”

Fresh from his Asia Cup 2023 success, Mohammed Siraj is set to resume his national duties for Team India in their upcoming three-match series against Australia.

The series, set to be played between September 22 and September 27, itself serves as India’s final round of fixtures prior to next month’s 2023 World Cup at home.
