India's ace badminton player PV Sindhu, who has been having a rough patch before the Asian Games, revealed how Virat Kohli, the cricket legend, gave her a boost.

The two-time Olympic medalist hasn't had it easy since her comeback from a five-month break due to an ankle injury she suffered during her victorious run at the Commonwealth Games last August.

Desperate to break the losing streak, the 28-year-old got in touch with the legendary Prakash Padukone and trained at his PPBA Academy in Bengaluru just before the big continental event.

Sindhu, in a conversation with Hindustan Times, mentioned how Virat Kohli's interview helped her grasp that even the absolute top players in the field have their fair share of failures and it’s completely fine to face such setbacks.

Here’s what PV Sindhu had to say on Kohli’s influence on her:

"Virat Kohli is an inspiration, he has inspired me during my tough phase. I do read his interviews & I've seen Virat's as well. Virat too went through a phase where he couldn't score but came out of it. That is incredibly important, even for the best in the business and greatest athletes like Virat . I'm sure every athlete goes through it.”

The batting maestro, Virat Kohli, himself went through a challenging phase in his career, enduring nearly two years without a century. However, he finally turned the tide during the Asia Cup 2022, and since then, he has been on fire, consistently scoring centuries in all formats.

Looking at the bigger picture, Virat Kohli is not just an inspiration to PV Sindhu; he should be a role model for anyone going through a tough time in their careers. Ups and downs are just a part of life, so never throw in the towel, keep grinding, and one day you will break free, just like Kohli did.
