India kicked off the three-match ODI series against Australia in style with a dominant five-wicket victory at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali. Captain KL Rahul's sensational six to wrap up the match brought back memories of MS Dhoni's iconic finish in the 2011 World Cup against Sri Lanka. 

With only six runs needed to seal the win, KL Rahul put on his batting prowess by dispatching a boundary and a sensational six off Sean Abbott. It all happened during the 49th over, as Abbott bowled a full-pitched delivery just outside the fourth stump. Rahul was quick to react, launching the ball down the ground over the long-off boundary for a game-changing six.

Here’s how the Indian fans reacted to the six smashed by Rahul to finish the game. India's run-chase of 277 runs began on a high note with openers Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad delivering an outstanding start, amassing a formidable 142-run partnership. 

While Gill contributed 74 runs from 63 balls, Gaikwad added 71 runs from 77 balls. Additionally, Suryakumar Yadav, who had been struggling in recent ODI matches, finally found his form, scoring a valuable 50 runs from 49 balls. 

This victory elevates India to the top spot in ODIs, adding to their existing number one rankings in the other two formats, making them the undisputed number one team across all formats.
