Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 4 wickets on Wednesday evening in the eliminator as the fairytale that RCB had wished for with 6 wins in their last 6 matches came to a crashing end.

Following the match, former England great, Kevin Pietersen came out and asked Virat Kohli to leave the franchise and go for the glory somewhere else.

Pietersen urges Kohli to leave RCB

Talking about Virat's case at RCB, Pietersen compared the situation with football transfers where players leave their clubs and find glory at a new place. He said that the ex-RCB captain should be leaving the Bengaluru team after multiple failed attempts to have his hands on the trophy.

"I have said it before and I will say it again, the greats of the game in other sports, have left teams to go and seek glory somewhere else. When he has tried and tried so hard and won the Orange Cap and did so much yet again but the franchise failed again.

"I understand the brand and commercial value he brings to the team but Virat Kohli deserves a trophy. He deserves to play in a team that could help him to get that trophy," KP said

He also suggested a team that Kohli should be joining to finally win a trophy and play peacefully,

"I actually think it should be Delhi. Delhi is the place where Virat needs to go. Virat can go away, and stay at home most of the time, I know he has a home in Delhi. He has a young family. He can spend more time there. He is a Delhi boy. Why can't he go back? Delhi are as desperate as Bengaluru."

RCB posted 172, while batting first in the Eliminator Vs Rajasthan Royals. In reply, RR suffered a couple of hiccups, but Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag played blinders to steer their side past the winning line.
