Former Indian opener and cricket analyst Aakash Chopra didn't hold back in his critique of Chennai Super Kings' all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja following his performance against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Jadeja heavily criticised

Jadeja, typically relied upon as a finisher for his team, faced criticism for what was deemed a slow innings in the context of T20 cricket. Scoring 57 runs from 40 balls as a finisher, Jadeja's pace was questioned by Aakash Chopra.

"Jaddu had to be sent up the order. Jaddu scored a fifty and stayed unbeaten till the end as well but he couldn't accelerate in the end the way you expect from him. If you have been sent at No. 4, got to bat almost in the powerplay and you stay till the end, you should score 70-80 runs in 40 balls. The thinking is like that but he didn't reach there," he explained  in his YouTube channel.

Earlier Ruturaj Gaikwad mentioned post-game that CSK fell short by 15-20 runs, crucial for the outcome. He credited MS Dhoni's finish for reaching 176, which was CSK's score batting first vs LSG.

Gaikwad's remarks indirectly raised doubts about Jadeja's T20 effectiveness and his place in the national squad for the T20 World Cup.

At the same time Aakash Chopra praised MS Dhoni's finishing skills, emphasizing his crucial role in lifting CSK to 176 when at a stage 155-160 was looking realistic for CSK. Without Dhoni's innings, Lucknow Super Giants could have won earlier, boosting their Net Run Rate.
