Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their third defeat in IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), losing by 8 wickets at the Ekana Stadium. KL Rahul's outstanding innings left CSK unable to defend their total 176 runs.

After a blistering knock from Thala Dhoni at the end, CSK was delighted as their team posted a competitive total of 176 runs at the typically slow Ekana Stadium. However, LSG's openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul's exceptional batting performance left CSK completely outplayed.

Gaikwad regrets not scoring more runs Vs LSG

In his post-game speech, CSK captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed his belief that the team fell short by 15-20 runs in their total. He highlighted the issue of CSK failing to take wickets during the powerplay, which was also a concern in a previous match against Mumbai.

 However, in the Mumbai match, CSK managed to take quick wickets after the powerplay, which didn't happened tonight vs LSG. 

 "Our young bowlers were put under pressure with the crowd going berserk as well. 15-20 runs extra they got. I have been trying to assess the situation. It came off today. I knew the CSK spinners will put the pressure on. I picked my bowlers and it came off. Quinton batted well as well. Made life easy for both"-said Ruturaj post game.

CSK will have the opportunity to seek revenge in their next game against LSG at their home ground, Anbuden Chepauk.
