Indian cricket's latest sensation, Kashvee Gautam, achieved a remarkable feat at the recently concluded auction by becoming the most expensive uncapped player in the Women's Premier League (WPL) history. This outstanding achievement has placed her firmly in the limelight, not only in Indian cricketing circles but also on the international stage.

Kashvee Gautam revealed her role model

Originating from Chandigarh, Kashvee's potential was fully recognized in the WPL auction. During this high-stakes event, the Gujarat Giants secured her services for a whopping Rs 2 crore, following a competitive bidding war involving the Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz.

This landmark deal for Kashvee began with a modest base price of just Rs 10 lakh. The intense competition among the teams to acquire her talent signifies her high regard in cricketing circles. This acquisition not only marked a personal win for Kashvee but also tied her to be the joint highest-paid player at the auction, alongside Australia's Annabel Sutherland.

Kashvee, known for admiring former Indian captain Mithali Raj, views this opportunity as a significant step in her career. While speaking to ANI, she expressed her excitement about interacting with and learning from seasoned players like Mithali Raj, whom she has always held in high esteem.

"It is a huge opportunity for me to showcase my skills. We have always looked up to Mithali ji. It is a great opportunity for me to interact with her and seek tips from her," said Kashvee.

Reflecting on her strategy and preparation, Kashvee highlighted the importance of impactful performance, particularly in the lower middle order batting. She noted the necessity for teams to accelerate scoring in the final overs. She mentioned her focus on enhancing her range hitting and versatility in bowling, adapting to new and old balls.

"I think teams need to be more impactful in the lower middle order batting. They need to accelerate in the last 3-4 overs, so I have practised accordingly. I have worked on range hitting. I have to be flexible with my bowling, to be able to bowl well with both the new and old balls," added the 20-year-old prodigy.

Kashvee's aspirations extend beyond the WPL. She is also optimistic about leveraging her performance with the Giants to earn a place in the Indian team.
