Former New Zealand cricketer and commentator, Simon Doull has made a huge claim that Hardik Pandya is once again injured and as a result has only bowled a solitary over since the opening two matches.

The MI skipper bowled in the first two matches and looked in good rhythm as well. However, since then, he has taken a back seat and has only bowled one over, which came up in the last match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Doull questions Hardik Pandya

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Doull stated that Hardik is not admitting, but he is injured and as a result hasn't featured too much with the ball in hand.

"Hardik Pandya is injured, there's something wrong. He's not admitting it, but there's something wrong with him for sure. That's my gut feeling. You go out and make a statement by opening the bowling in 1st game and suddenly, you're not required?!".

"He is injured, I am telling you, something is wrong with him. He is not admitting it. That is my gut feeling."

Hardik has had a history of injuries, which has hampered his international career. The all-rounder got severely injured during Asia Cup 2018, and as a result stopped playing Test cricket in order to give less stress on his bowling duties.

In the World Cup 2023, he got injured against Bangladesh and was eventually ruled out of the tournament.
