Royal Challengers Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) has been one of the most decorated and celebrated teams since the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The franchise has had a disappointing start to the IPL 2024 season and is currently placed last (10th position) on the points table after match No.25 where Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets on April 12, 2024.

It is too early to look at the possibility of RCB making it to the playoffs. But a franchise that has a huge fan following and loyal supporters would want to see the chances of Royal Challengers Bengaluru making it to the playoffs.

Can Bottom Placed RCB Qualify For Playoffs In IPL 2024?

The Faf du Plessis-led team has faced defeat in 5 out of 6 games (against CSK, KKR, LSG, RR and MI) in a row just winning one match against Punjab Kings at home.

After Delhi Capitals won their match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 12, 2024, RCB was pushed down to 10th place in the 2024 IPL Points Table.

There is still a ray of hope for the Bengaluru-based franchise, who needs to win at least seven out of their remaining eight fixtures, but there are several other factors also for the team to make its place secure for the playoffs.

One factor is the NNR (Net run rate), currently, the team has a low NRR of -1.124 and if their NRR gets better with some big wins, it can help them to qualify.

In 2009, 2011 and 2016; RCB faced similar situations where they lost their first four matches consecutively but still managed to make their way to playoffs and reach the final in both editions.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play its next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 15, 2024, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

The RCB team will face SRH and GT twice. In the remaining games will also face CSK, RR, PBKS and KKR once, the franchise has to win 7 games with a decent margin with the hope that the results turn out to be in their favour.
