Priyansh Arya, Punjab Kings’ 24-year-old batting sensation, has set IPL 2025 ablaze with a scintillating 39-ball century against Chennai Super Kings, becoming the tournament’s fastest uncapped centurion. The Delhi-born southpaw, in his debut season, showcased remarkable grit after an early dismissal to Jofra Archer, rebounding with a fearless six in his next outing.
Priyansh Arya’s ability to anchor the innings amid crumbling partnerships has solidified his reputation as a rising star, blending aggression with tactical precision on cricket’s grandest franchise stage.
Priyansh Arya Reveals Gambhir's Gifts And Guiding Nature
Behind his meteoric rise lies a tale of mentorship. During a recent interaction, Arya revealed how India head coach Gautam Gambhir shaped his career. The duo, connected through their Delhi roots, crossed paths frequently during Gambhir’s playing days.
“I used to call him Sir during my childhood. My coach, Sanjay Sir, urged us to study Gambhir’s net sessions. He batted in practice like it was a match—no rash shots. I learned a lot just observing that focus.”
Their bond deepened when Gambhir gifted Arya an entire kit bag after noticing him at a Ranji Trophy camp.
“He called me to his place, handed me all his equipment, and said, ‘Use these.’ It was surreal,” recalled the youngster.
Known for nurturing talent, Gambhir’s gesture left a lasting imprint on Arya, who later rose to fame with six sixes in a Delhi Premier League game before his INR 3.8 crore IPL bid.
Now thriving under pressure, Arya credits his bold mindset to Gambhir’s influence. “It’s about mentality. I wasn’t this fearless earlier—it’s a learned trait,” he admitted. With a debut season already rewriting records, the left-hander’s journey from local leagues to IPL stardom embodies resilience and the power of guidance.
