'Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu..': Deshpande Pays Tribute To Dhoni And His Father On Guru Purnima

Indian fast bowler Tushar Deshpande recently paid an emotional tribute to the two influential teachers who helped in shaping his cricketing career, his father Uday Deshpande and ex-CSK captain MS Dhoni. 

Taking to his Instagram account on the occasion of the Guru Purnima festival, Deshpande shared a picture of his father alongside Dhoni.

Tushar Deshpande has often credited MS Dhoni for extracting the best out of his fast-bowling skills a number of times for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in IPL. Tushar’s father Uday Deshpande has also played a vital role in shaping his cricketing personality from a very young age.

The 29-year-old fast bowler took to his Instagram account on July 21, and shared a picture of his father alongside MS Dhoni. Moreover, Tushar Deshpande also wished them on the occasion of Guru Purnima by sharing a special message.

Deshpande made his CSK debut back during the 2022 edition of the IPL under the leadership of MS Dhoni. After a couple of prolific seasons with the ball, the cricketer finally earned his maiden international cap for Team India earlier this month during India’s five-match T20I tour of Zimbabwe.

Deshpande played the final two matches of the series, and picked up a wicket each on his two outings. His overall T20 profile features an impressive haul of 118 wickets from 82 innings at a striking bowling average of 21.39.
