How Did Rohit Fare In Test Cricket?
Neutral venues added minimal impact – 122 runs in two Tests at 30.50. His technical evolution, however, shone during the 2021 England series, where his patient batting countered challenging conditions.
Despite mixed fortunes abroad, Rohit Sharma’s legacy as a transformative white-ball leader and a resilient Test opener remains intact as he transitions to limited-overs cricket.
While showcasing moments of brilliance, Sharma faced persistent challenges cementing his Test position, particularly overseas. Across 31 Tests in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia), he managed 1,644 runs at 31.01, with two centuries.
His home dominance remained undisputed – 2,535 runs at 51.73 from 34 matches, including 10 hundreds. The 2021-22 England tour highlighted his adaptability, where he top-scored for India with 368 runs at 52.57, including his lone SENA century (127) at The Oval.
