After the shocking retirement of India's Test skipper, Rohit Sharma, from the longest format, his opening partner and fellow Indian wicketkeeper, KL Rahul, has penned an emotional note. It is worth mentioning that Rohit and Rahul had a superior opening partnership during the England tour.
KL Rahul's Message For Retiring Rohit Sharma
After stunning everyone with his shock retirement post, Rohit Sharma has garnered much attention from social media users, his teammates, and fans, after giving up on the red-ball format.
This decision came about after it was being circulated on social media, and rumors were rife that the selectors were planning to remove Rohit from the test captaincy. However, even before the decision was made, Rohit himself stepped down from the format.
After the stepping down of Virat Kohli from Test captaincy, Rohit took over the mantle and led India for a period of time, after which the results started to go against him, where India lost two consecutive series to New Zealand and Australia.
However, after his retirement, Rohit's opening partner and current Delhi Capitals player, KL Rahul, has put an emotional message for Rohit on his Instagram story, where he mentions the honour of playing alongside the 38-year-old and under his captaincy, while also congratulating him on his stupendous career. He then ends the note by adding that he will miss him in the dressing room.
"Been an absolute honour opening the batting with you, playing with and under your leadership. Congratulations on all your achievements. Will miss you in the dressing room."
