All eyes ball shift to Ahmedabad for the much-anticipated India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup 2023 encounter scheduled for October 14, but for pace Jasprit Bumrah, it is about meeting his mother.

Bumrah, who claimed a brilliant four-wicket haul against Afghanistan on Wednesday evening at Delhi, stated how he is looking forward to seeing his mother at home ahead of the Indo-Pak affair.

As quoted by The Daily Star, speaking in the post-match press conference, the star pacer explained meeting his mother takes precedence, and then the MI player will shift focus on Pakistan.

Interestingly, this will be the 29-year-old's maiden ODI match at Narendra Modi Stadium, which happens to be his home ground.

Here's what Bumrah said

I've been away for a while now. I'll be happy to see my mother at home. I'm going to see her. That's the first basic thing for me. I have not played a one-dayer there but I have played a Test match. The atmosphere is going to be exciting. I'm sure a lot of people are going to come. So, it will be a sight to see. So yeah, hoping for the best over there."

The MI pace has been in top form ever since making his comeback from injury in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023, which India won.

Bumrah is already the joint second-highest wicket-taker in WC 2023 with six scalps, Mitchell Santner leads with seven.
