The future of One-Day International (ODI) remains a question, and many predict that the current ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India could be the last in this format.

For many, the World Cup is about watching arch-rivals India and Pakistan lock horns against each other, who don't play any bilateral. Geopolitical tensions since 2007, have seen India refrain from visiting Pakistan, while the last time these two met in two-nation series was back in 2012.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra opened up about the lack of Indo-Pak cricket in an exclusive chat with OneCricket on LOC 3.0.

The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player explained that in a World Cup, every encounter is a contest, while in a bilateral is not the case, and when these two teams will meet in World Cup remains a question.

Here's what Chopra said

"Every game is a contest. Bilateral doesn’t have a contest. India and Pakistan meet just in World Cups. Yeah, they meet in the Asia Cup, but games are limited. And you never know when they will be meeting next (in ODI WC) time. No don’t know whether which players would retire by the next time."

Both India and Pakistan will square off against each other on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will be the seventh time these two meet in World Cup history. India holds an enviable record of 7-0 against Pakistan in this competition.
