In the chase of 200 runs, Punjab Kings started well but lost momentum in the middle due to consecutive fall of wickets. However, the uncapped duo of Shashank Singh and impact player Ashutosh Sharma stitched a 40+ runs partnership to stay alive in the game.

Singh's finishing touches in a remarkable 29 ball 61 run innings propelled Punjab to a magnificent win.

That being said, during the post-game interview, PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan offered credit where it was due and spoke heavily of Shashank Singh

"When we are chasing the big total, we have to keep the momentum going. Shashank hit the sixes effortlessly and it is glad to see him be on our side," Dhawan said.

Dhawan mentioned how the batter has been in IPL for a long time and his ability to hit sixes effortlessly helped PBKS fetch an impossible win today.

"He (Shashank Singh) timed the ball so nicely. He hit the sixes effortlessly and finishing the game, that was very important. He is playing IPL after a long time. This shows what he is capable of. He starting from number seven and it shows his mindset," he added.

Further elaborating on his chase plan, Shikhar said the plan was to go hard from ball one. But obviously, they ended up losing momentum. However, the intent was never lost, and the team backed the uncapped duo to finish the job in the middle.

Dhawan mentioned Ashutosh's knock and temperament before ending his victory speech.

"I want to speak about Ashutosh as well. It's nice to see him keeping the calm and nice to see them performing," he concluded.
