In what will go down as one of the most memorable victories in India’s cricketing history, a young and relatively unproven Team India, led by Shubman Gill, stunned England at Edgbaston with a record 336

While the match was packed with remarkable individual feats that is Gill himself scoring over 400 runs across both innings and Akash Deep claiming 10-wicket match haul on English soil- it was a piece of fielding brilliance that the skipper called 'the best moment of the game.'

Shubman Gill's Special Praise For Siraj

After the five-day battle, Gill addressed his teammates in the dressing room and, in a video shared by the BCCI, emotionally recounted what stood out for him the most.

“This is something that I would cherish for the rest of my life; probably whenever I would retire, I think this would be one of my happiest memories. But the most special thing for me in this Test match was Siraj’s catch at the end of the day," he added while the other gave a huge round of applause to the right-arm quick" Gill said in a video shared by BCCI.

For Shubman Gill, despite centuries and records, it’s a single moment of brilliance in the field that will stay closest to his heart.

Siraj’s Stunning Grab That Left Everyone Stunned

Mohammed Siraj's stunning catch came during the second session on Day 5, with India needing just two wickets to close out the game. In the 64th over of England’s second innings, Josh Tongue attempted to flick a tossed-up delivery from Ravindra Jadeja toward short mid-wicket.

Mohammed Siraj, stationed at the position, dived sharply to his right and pulled off a one-handed blinder.

The final blow was delivered by the captain himself, as Shubman Gill caught Brydon Carse off the bowling of Akash Deep to wrap up the Test in emphatic fashion. The 336-run margin is now India’s biggest away win by runs in Test history, and their first-ever victory at Edgbaston in nine attempts.

With the series now levelled at 1-1, Team India will take plenty of confidence into the third match at the Lord's.
