It turned out to be a historic affair for the Shubman Gill-led Indian side, which dominated the English side at Edgbaston in Birmingham, winning by a massive margin of 336 runs in the second Test. After the game, former Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli was highly in praise of the Indian side that made history by winning their first-ever Test at Edgbaston.

Virat Kohli's Heartwarming Wish For Indian Team After Edgbaston Victory

On the back of Shubman Gill's mammoth 269 and 161-run knock in the first and second innings respectively, India earned a gigantic 336-run victory at Edgbaston in Birmingham in the second Test, as they now level the series 1-1. Playing a solid role with the ball, the duo of Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep ran riot, picking seven and ten wickets, respectively.

Immediately after the game, former Indian legend Virat Kohli, an avid test follower and one of the legends in both white-ball and red-ball cricket, specially wished the Indian side for their historic victory.

Kohli took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), and tagged Shubman Gill, Siraj, alongside Akash in his post, while congratuling India for coming out on top at Edgbaston. He mentioned the words "fearless" and then said that they put England against the wall.

"Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubman with the bat and in the field, and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch."

Furthermore, he praised Shubman for his captaincy and batting, while also mentioning Siraj and Akash for their accurate line and length, as well as their consistency on the pitch.

Series Levelled As Action All Set To Move To Lord's

After bringing their A-game and registering an equaliser, the Indian team will now look ahead to the third Test, which is set to be played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London from July 10.

The English side were ahead with a five-wicket victory at Headingly in Leeds in the first Test, whereas the Indian team claimed their territory back with a 336-run win in Birmingham. Now, with the series levelled at one each, both sides will look to gain an advantage, with much more fiery action set to be unleashed in the upcoming games.
