Rohit Opines After India Defeated PAK In Nail-Biting Encounter

After winning the match, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, at the post-match presentation, stated that India lacked effort in the batting today.

The Indian batters were not able to build up a solid partnership and leading to this he believed that India was 15-20 runs short to put up a fighting target against the 'Men In Green'.

"I think we didn't bat well enough. Halfway through the stage, when we were batting we were 80 for 3 down. You expect guys to stitch the partnership. We were 15-20 runs short. Every run matters on a ground like this. Bowlers came and did the job for us.

You need everyone to show up. Little contribution from everyone makes a huge difference. Whoever had ball in hand wanted to contribute for the team.

Rohit also added that every player's contribution is important in the match as the team needs every player to step up and perform to their best abilities making a significant contribution to the team.

The Indian captain also praised Jasprit Bumrah and stated that his contribution to the team is commendable. and the team needs him to be in the same mindset for the entire T20 World Cup 2024.

Bumrah is going strength to strength. We've seen him over the years now and what he can do with the ball we all know about it. I am not gonna talk too much about him. We want him to be in that mindset till the end of the World Cup. He is a genius with the ball.

Earlier in the match, the Rohit Sharma-led side suffered a mid-innings collapse on a two-paced track and were all out for an underwhelming 119 in 19 overs, despite a gutsy effort from Rishabh Pant (42 off 31 balls) after being put in to bat under overcast conditions.
