Explosive Australian opening batter David Warner bid farewell to his Test career earlier this week after a terrific win over Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground, which also happens to be his home turf.

Prior to the commencement of the three-game Test series between Australia and Pakistan, Warner announced that the series would be his last outing in the whites for Australia. Subsequently, preparations for his final Test at SCG began in full swing.

Indeed, David Warner earned his fairytale ending by finishing on a high in his final Test game. He scored over 50 runs in the chase to guide Aussie to a comprehensive win.

With that, Warner took a final victory lap and bid a teared eye goodbye to the fans and teammates alike.

Meanwhile, David Warner also heaped praises from the opposition, i.e., the Pakistan cricket team. Captain Shan Masood gifted a signed Babar Azam jersey to Warner on the celebration podium.

On the other hand, Pakistan's celebrated speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi took to his X (formerly called Twitter) handle to congratulate Warner for his exceptional red ball career.

Afridi referred to David as a true ambassador for the sport of cricket and expressed how he enjoyed challenging him over the years. Lastly, Afridi wished the parting batter good luck in his future endeavors.

Having said that, Shaheen Afridi's words underscore the camaraderie and mutual respect that often transcends national boundaries in the world of cricket. While on-field battles are intense, the off-field recognition of a player's impact on the sport's spirit is a testament to the global brotherhood that cricket fosters.

As Warner took his final bow from Test cricket, Shaheen Afridi's tribute reflects the sentiment shared by many players who have witnessed and competed against the Australian stalwart.

The game of cricket, with its rich history of cultures and talents, continues to celebrate individuals like David Warner, who not only excel on the field but also contribute to the sport's global unity and shared love for the game.
