Of late Indian cricketing stadiums have been undergoing a massive facelift, which has ensured that most venues have caught the eyes of the spectator, however, none is more spectacular than the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

With the Dhauladhar range in the backdrop, the stadium hosted India and England in the fifth Test last week, which promoted a reaction from former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who lashed out at the conditions of venues in his own nation.

During the much-loved sports show ' The Pavillion' Akram responded to a fan question regarding the lack of picturesque stadiums in Pakistan, with cricket being restricted to merely three venues lately.

The former fast bowling legend, in his typical no-nonsense style lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not maintain existing stadiums, which has been the talk of the town ever since the start of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, mainly Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

'We can only dream of making a new one' - Wasim Akram

"We can't even maintain three stadiums, (Baki kaha naya bana lenge) how could we make a new one? (Gaddafi ki chhat dekhi hai) Have you seen the roof of the Gaddafi Stadium that they were showing with the drone? We can't even control the three we have.

"We can only dream of making a new one. We have enough area to make a new stadium, though.Abbottabad is a very beautiful ground."

Stadiums in Pakistan have constantly been targeted for their lack of modern-age facilities, and optics, which make the viewing experience for fans in and outside the venue better, and enjoyable.
