Rishabh Pant's encouraging return to the Delhi Capitals (DC) squad ahead of the IPL 2024 was followed by a string of sixes that the extravagant left-hander hit during a net session organised by the franchise before their fresh campaign. 

As the DC skipper returns to his den following a prolonged absence due to a life-threatening car accident in December 2022, Pant made his presence instantly felt by smacking a terrific six towards his favourite deep mid-wicket position. 

Facing a throwdown specialist, the valiant wicketkeeper-batter smacked the ball to the on-side and held the pose beautifully for the cameras to capture. A clip of Pant in his true elements after a long time has since gone viral over social media.

The clip is warming the fans' hearts as they have been waiting painstakingly for Pant's comeback to playing colours, having hoped and prayed for his strong recovery from the multiple surgeries and bruises the match-winning cricketer faced when his car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Roorkie highway at midnight.

Over the past 15 months, Pant has been on a gradual recovery trail and putting in the hard yards at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore under the supervision of the physios and BCCI medical staff. 

From struggling to walk and requiring braces for his ravaged knee, the 26-year-old is now back on his feet properly and even started practising his cricketing drills for the rigours of a strenuous IPL 2024 campaign in the Capitals jersey. 

Pant's comeback has also raised hopes of the Team India fans to witness the enterprising left-hander and wicketkeeper don an important role for the side at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in June in the Caribbean & USA.
