In a dramatic turn of events, Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer was caught taking a nap in the RR dressing room during their clash against Punjab Kings. The hilarious moment occurred while RR was batting in the enthralling contest taking place at the Mullanpur Stadium in Chandigarh.
After being put to bat first, Rajasthan Royals started strongly as Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched an 89-run opening stand. Samson got out after scoring 38 off 26 and was followed by his fellow opener Jaiswal, who made his first half-century of the season.
Meanwhile, Archer, who was named in the first playing XI, was hilariously caught napping under a blanket inside the dressing room during the 14th over of the first innings. With some mouthwatering battles on the field, cameras briefly zoomed into the dugout, only to find Archer busy in his own dream, far away from the unfolding on-field action.
The incident made fans go crazy as they made the hilarious moment quickly go viral, adding unexpected humor while rest of the RR players were busy fighting it out in the middle. It was a light-hearted moment which added a completely different flavor into the match.
Coming back to the on field actions, the Royals posted a formidable total of 205 runs at the end of the 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Following the perfect foundation laid by the openers, Riyan Parag and the rest of the RR batting lineup contributed with quick cameos, capitalizing on the brilliant start by Samson and Jaiswal.
On the other side, Punjab Kings, who are unbeaten so far this season, now need to pull off a record-breaking chase at Mullanpur as they look to maintain their winning momentum and go top of the league standings.
