MS Dhoni has been retired from international cricket for a while now but the 42-year-old is still going strong when it comes to the Indian Premier League. The Chennai Super Kings skipper started to train for the upcoming IPL edition last week and images from those sessions went viral on social media.

While anything that involves Dhoni tends to go viral in the country because of the kind of following he has, the reason those images sent the internet into a frenzy was his old friend Paramjit Singh.

Dhoni was seen sporting a new sticker 'Prime Sports' on his bat while hitting the nets. The sticker was Dhoni's gesture to his friend who owns the company. Their journey in the sports apparel market began 20 years back while the former Indian skipper was also coming up the ranks in Indian cricket.

While Prime Sports is a big foundation today, it debuted as a store two decades back in Ranchi. Paramjit Singh played a part in helping Dhoni reach the kind of heights he has and the great man is honouring his friend by donning his company's sticker on his bat.

Singh was recently asked about his friend's gesture and his reply suggests that he is filled with joy. He even revealed the fact that Dhoni is not only training with his company's sticker on his bat, he has even gifted him a signed bat.

When asked about his friendship with Dhoni, Paramjit said: "I am feeling very proud of him. He has always been there for us. And this is our friendship. Friendship No. 1."

Of late, Dhoni has made it a habit to show courtesy to people and institutes that supported him in his journey to the top. Back in 2019 when he was playing the final few fixtures of his international career, the CSK skipper was sporting the stickers of SS and BAS, two sponsors who played a big part in his initial years. Hence, it is not that big a surprise that Dhoni was seen using a bat with a Prime Sports' sticker on it.
