'Feel Most Comfortable At...': Harry Brook Opens Up After Match-Winning Headingley Knock

One of the most promising batting talents out of England, Harry Brook, has been struggling with the bat since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and did not have the best of times in the ongoing Ashes 2023 series as well, until the Headingley Test, which concluded on Sunday.

Chasing 251, Brook slammed a match-winning 75 off 93 balls, with England in trouble on Day 4 of the Leeds Test against Australia. The Ben Stokes-led XI went up to win the Test by three wickets and kept themselves alive in the series, with Australia leading 2-1.

Talking about his knock, Brook explained how being demoted to No.5 in the second innings helped the batter, who has primarily batted in the lower-middle for Yorkshire.

Here's what Brook revealed

"Baz [head coach Brendon McCullum] just came up yesterday morning and said 'you're going back to five'. I think Mo [Ali] wanted to go up to three and try to put the pressure on those guys. I've batted there for the last four or five years of my career, whether it's for England or Yorkshire, so I probably feel most comfortable there. I'm happy to just be in the 11, to be honest,"

As quoted by Sky Sports, the 24-year-old further talked about not being able to finish the game, with England just 21 runs away from victory.  Overall, in 3 Tests, Brook has scored 210 runs with two fifties.

"I'm not one to blow up when I get in the changing room, but I had a little blow up today because I like getting us over the line and it was annoying I didn't today - but I'm happy we won. Everybody was buzzing and it was tense for a little while, but when Woody hit that six we knew it was on,"

The fourth Test will begin on July 19 at Old Trafford in Manchester.
