'Don't Think They'll Be Pooing In Their Pants…', Mark Wood’s Hilarious Remark Aussies

England's pace bowler Mark Wood doesn't believe Australia will be overly concerned about facing England, despite the defending champions' recent struggles in the World Cup.

The age-old rivals, England and Australia, will meet on Saturday, November 4, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, Australia faces challenges as Glenn Maxwell is ruled out due to a concussion and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has left for personal reasons, leaving them with only 13 fit players.

Wood pointed out that the recent Ashes series would not impact the World Cup contest, as the conditions, players, timing, and form are all different.

He highlighted England's strong record against Australia in ODIs and suggested that Australia won't be overly worried about the upcoming game, given the current form of the defending champions.

"I don’t think so. Completely different conditions, different players, different timing, different form. We’ve played against them for years. In one-day cricket, we’ve done well against them in recent times. I don’t think they’ll be going into this game pooing their pants. It’s up to us to change that," Mark Wood told the Guardian.

Despite the absence of two first-choice players (Maxwell and Marsh), Australia remains confident due to the depth of their squad.

For England, the lack of in-form players is a concern, even though they have two days off before resuming training on Thursday in Ahmedabad. They are currently at the bottom of the points table, while Australia is just one win away from securing a spot in the semi-finals.

After two first losses in the tournament, the five-time champions have made an impressive recovery with four consecutive wins.

As they prepare for their crucial showdown, England needs to improve their form to face Australia with confidence. Wood's statement reflects the belief that Australia, despite their challenges, remains a formidable opponent and won't be daunted by England's recent struggles.
