The mission is finally accomplished, and the world’s long wait to see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma dominate the field has come true. After two consecutive defeats in the series, Team India roared back with a thrilling victory.

The Men in Blue played a pure team game, but the RO-KO duo stole the spotlight with their batting brilliance. After the thrilling win, captain Shubman Gill beamed with pride, praising the entire side for their brilliance.

Shubman Gill hails team’s brilliant performance

After the heartbreaking defeats in Perth and Adelaide, the ODI series already slipped from Team India’s hands but Men in Blue secured a heroic comeback in Sydney and stunned the World. While bowling first, the Indian side restricted Australia to 236 runs as Harshit Rana led the way with a dominating four-wicket haul, and the rest of the bowlers kept the domination alive.

In the post-match presentation of the exceptional 9-wicket victory, captain Shubman Gill praised the entire squad. Hailing the side, Gill sounded ecstatic about their ‘near-perfect game’.

“We had a near-perfect game. Pulled things back in the middle overs. Chase was pleasing to see. Our spinners, contained in the middle and pacers, took key wickets. Harshit bowled fast in the middle overs, we need that quality,” Gill said.

Gill is in awe with Rohit-Kohli’s masterclass

Amid swirling debates about their ODI futures, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli rose to the occasion, raising their bats high to silence the critics. After Rohit Sharma stunned the world with his 50th international ton, Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 74 runs after two consecutive ducks in the previous two ODIs. The incredible 168-run partnership between RO-KO propelled India to a memorable win, and Gill expressed his delight at the duo’s performance.

“Rohit, Kohli have done it for so many years. Delight to watch,” he said.

Amidst all the heroics by the players, the team was a little bit extra special for captain Shubman Gill as it was his first win as Team India’s newest ODI captain. When he was asked about this, he said, “Special win on a special ground.”

After wrapping up the ODI series, Team India will now shift the focus into the shortest format as the first match of the five-match T20I series against the Aussies on October 29. The Men in Blue are ready to thrive under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership.
