Yograj Singh declares who he thinks is India’s best
Over the years, Indian cricket has produced some unreal cricket talents, and choosing one among the talent pool is not an easy task. As the debate of ‘who is the best cricket player’ has been on over the years, the discussion seems never-ending as fans and experts take part in it. Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, is the newest addition to the list as he also joined the debate.
In a recent podcast with Krishnank Atrey, the host asked Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, “Who is the best player that India has ever produced?” Yograj named some of the greats of India of all time. But his final answer stunned the cricket world.
“If you talk about all-rounders, then Kapil Dev. If you talk about batsmen, then you have Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly, all these guys. But I think Yuvi is topping everybody in my book,” he said.
Even after naming Yuvraj Singh, he couldn’t stop himself from hailing his son. Praising Yuvraj Singh, he said the former all-rounder may have played 200 Tests in his career.
“He would have played about 200 Test matches and maybe 200 centuries, which I thought… and he was capable of,” he added.
Yuvraj Singh continues to serve Indian cricket beyond retirement
Donning the Indian jersey, Yuvraj Singh created a legacy that is still untouched. Whenever Team India found themself in trouble, Yuvraj Singh stepped in as a savior. With the bat, he is indomitable, but he has also secured some crucial wickets. Even after finishing his international cricket career, he is still working for the Indian cricket.
After Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is, Team India found a new opener in Abhishek Sharma. With fearless stroke play and outstanding talent, he became a next-generation star for the Men in Blue. Behind the scenes, Yuvraj Singh quietly shaped Abhishek’s rise, while also mentoring Shubman Gill, now leading India in Tests and ODIs. Even in retirement, Yuvi continues to work silently, nurturing the future of Indian cricket.
