In a massive setback for Australia, two premier all-rounders, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh have been ruled out of the all-important World Cup clash against arch-rivals England in Ahmedabad.

This match holds significant importance for the Aussies, as they desperately need a win to strengthen their semifinal chances. But, unfortunately, Maxwell's freak injury and Marsh's departure to his home have compelled the Australian think tank to tinker with the settled combination.

So, as the Aussies gear up for the high-octane clash against their arch-rivals, let's see what could be their playing XI for this game.

After recovering from an injury, Travis Head showcased sublime hitting prowess, hammering a belligerent ton against New Zealand in Dharamsala. So, the swashbuckling southpaw will continue to open alongside veteran batter David Warner.

Meanwhile, in Mitchell Marsh's absence, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are set to move one place up in the Australian lineup, batting at number three and four, respectively.

Keeper-batter Josh Inglis, who has impressed everyone with his range and superb timing, will do the finishing job alongside seam-bowling all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green.

Talking about Australia's bowling department, it will be unchanged, comprising Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa, besides skipper Pat Cummins.
