'Can't Command Or...' - MS Dhoni Talks About 'Respect' After CSK's IPL 2024 Elimination

Look here and there in the world of cricket, all you can see is respect for MS Dhoni. The Thala himself talked about the word 'respect' in a recent conversation that went on Dubai Eye 103.8 YT.

Dhoni, 42 now, shone with the bat wherever he went throughout the IPL 2024. He had an average of 53.67 at a strike rate of 220.55, tallying 161 runs across eight innings while coming to bat during the fag end of the innings.

Yet, he got the support wherever he went despite thrashing CSK's opposition in their own backyard. Now Dhoni himself explained how he received legion of followers over the years.

"As a Leader, you have to earn that respect of the people. You can't command or demand respect. You need to earn it that respect. If you are in some position, that position is respected but you want to people respect you, you have earned it," Dhoni said on Dubai Eye 103.8 YT.

Dhoni, meanwhile, is set to undergo muscle tear surgery very soon. This could be a massive hit of him playing IPL 2025 to keep his beloved fans entertained.
