The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to bring in legendary hard-hitting West Indian batter Vivian Richards as a mentor for their national men’s team, which will travel to the USA and the West Indies for the T20 World Cup 2024.

If things go well, Richards will join Babar Azam and his boys for the showpiece event, which they last won way back in 2009, as cricketpakistan.com reported.

"The board is highly impressed with how Richards has performed as a mentor with the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. They are keen to have him mentor the Pakistan squad for the World T20,” a source told cricketpakistan.com.

However, the only problem with bringing Richards in is that the West Indian was thought to be on the commentary panel for the mega event.

"They are trying to find a solution because the Board is very keen on having Richards as the mentor, but he has not yet agreed to anything," the source added.

Viv Richards is currently associated with Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Hence, it is safe to say that he has a connection with Pakistan Cricket, and it should not be hard to convince him for the T20 World Cup.
