As the Indian cricket team gears up to kick off its Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the United Arab Emirates on September 10, captain Suryakumar Yadav has expressed immense confidence in the squad's readiness and talent.
Speaking after an intensive practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai, Suryakumar praised the team’s energy, dedication, and skill, reflecting a positive atmosphere as they prepare for one of Asia’s most prestigious tournaments.

“To have such a brilliant bunch around with unbelievable skill sets, I always have a smile on my face when I see those boys on the ground,” said Suryakumar Yadav in a video posted by the BCCI on X.
One of the highlights of this edition is the blend of talent that India has assembled. The Asia Cup 2025 features a unique reunion of players who have predominantly been associated with different formats. Short-format stalwarts like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav himself, and Sanju Samson have reunited with mixed-format players Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
'Lively Mahaul Hai' - Says Arshdeep
Arshdeep Singh emphasised the liveliness of the squad while sharing the game plan for the tournament. "Bada lively mahaul hai, hasi mazak chal raha hai and Day 1 hai abhi get into it karenge thoda..." Arshdeep said in the video. Jasprit Bumrah also shared that he is excited "to join the T20 group after a long time" and is looking forward to performing in the Asia Cup.
The intense training session reportedly reflected this mix's synergy, with players showcasing high energy and unwavering commitment, traits that Suryakumar singled out for praise. The training might serve as a perfect harbinger for the kind of team dynamics India will harness in the tournament.
India Confident To Take On The Tournament
Confidence from leadership like Suryakumar’s instils belief in the team’s potential, but it also sends a message to other competing teams that India is well-prepared. With such “unbelievable skill sets” and evident team spirit, India looks poised to make a strong statement in the Asia Cup 2025.
As the tournament nears, all eyes will be on India’s ability to translate this preparation and skill into on-field victories. For now, though, the mood within the camp is optimistic as India takes on the UAE for their tournament opener and later, Pakistan on September 14.
