In a stunning display of power-hitting, Liam Livingstone single-handedly dismantled Kent, guiding Lancashire to a three-wicket victory in the T20 Blast quarter-final with a magnificent, unbeaten 85 off just 45 balls. His innings, a brutal assault featuring 7 colossal sixes and 4 boundaries, rescued his side from a precarious position and secured their place in the next round.

Chasing a target of 154, Lancashire's innings was in immediate disarray at 31/3 inside the powerplay, crumbling under the pressure of Fred Klaassen’s fiery spell. With the top order back in the pavilion, the match seemed to be slipping away. However, from the moment he strode to the crease, Liam Livingstone changed the complexion of the game.

Livingstone Stuns Kent With The Bat!

The all-rounder launched a breathtaking counter-attack, taking particular liking to the spin of Matthew Parkinson. He hit 7 sixes in the match, with most of them being aggressive step-out shots in the deep leg region. Pull shots and pick up shots on a full-length ball easily cleared the ropes for the English all-rounder.

A concerning moment arose when he was struck on the head, but it only seemed to intensify his focus. He accelerated immediately after, clearing the ropes with astonishing regularity and keeping the required run rate in check.

Livingstone found brief support from Ashton Turner (22) and later from Jack Blatherwick, but the chase was unequivocally his own. He fittingly sealed the victory with nine balls to spare, finishing not out on 85 at a staggering strike rate of 188.89.

Earlier, Lancashire's bowlers had laid the groundwork for the win. Luke Wood was exceptional, taking 3/29, while Livingstone himself contributed crucially with the ball, taking 2/21 from his four overs of spin to restrict Kent to 153 all out.
