South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada is keen to break Trent Boult’s bat through his searing pace when the two cricketers face off in Pune on November 1. Both Rabada and Boult share a sporting rivalry with each other, as evidenced by their recent interactions with the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the much-awaited South Africa vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 game.

Kagiso Rabada jokingly issues stern warning to Boult

Kagiso Rabada, who broke the edge of Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s bat back during the 2019 World Cup in England, was recently asked if he has a target in mind this time around.

The speedster claimed that he is looking forward to breaking New Zealand number 11 batsman Trent Boult’s bat when the two cricketers possibly square off in their upcoming World Cup 2023 meeting in Pune. Rabada added that he already holds a beef with Boult because the Kiwi paceman did not give one of his bats to him upon being asked.

"If I am breaking anybody’s bat this World Cup, it will have to be Trent Boult. Trent, I am coming for your bat, boy! Trent and I have too much beef. I am coming for that bat, only because he did not want to give it to me.”

Trent Boult laughingly reacted to Kagiso Rabada’s threats and claimed that the South African cricketer is simply jealous of his bat collection.

“That’s not a good sign (laughs). I don’t think there’s any need for threats. I think it’s jealousy. He knows I have some very good bats.”

On the cricketing front, the upcoming contest marks a must-win one for New Zealand, as a defeat at this stage might possibly put their semi-final chances on the edge. South Africa, on the other hand, will be aiming to displace Team India from the top of the 2023 World Cup points table.
