In a surprising revelation, Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has claimed that his 'good looks' and sense of style have caused him significant challenges during his cricketing career. He was part of the Pakistan's T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2009 and the Champions Trophy-winning side in 2017.

Ahmed Shehzad's Bizarre Claim

During a recent interview with Ahmed Ali Butt he talked about his struggles and problems he faced during his career. The 33-year-old alleged that his appearance and growing fan following led to displeasure from certain individuals within the team. He went on to suggest that senior players often target individuals who stand out for their personality or popularity.

'Being good-looking has caused me a lot of problems. In our field, if you look good, know how to dress, and speak well, some people start to resent you. I've been a target within the Pakistani team for this. I'm not defending myself here, but there are others who have also faced this. If your fan following grows and people appreciate you, it's hard for some senior players to accept."

Reflecting on his background, Shehzad said he comes from humble beginnings in Anarkali, Lahore, and worked hard to groom himself and improve his personality. However, his efforts to better himself contributed to the hostility he faced in Pakistan cricket.

We come from small areas. I lived in Anarkali, Lahore, and when I gained recognition, I worked on grooming myself and improving my personality. But this has also caused significant problems within Pakistan," he added.

It is important to mention that, Ahmed Shehzad etched his name in history in 2014, when he became the first Pakistani batter to score a century in T20Is. In World Cup match against Bangladesh, Shahzad remained unbeaten on 111 runs off 58 balls. Despite his early promise, Shahzad's career has been marked by controversy and inconsistency.
