Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the many who saw the funny side of what unfolded at the Lord's Cricket Stadium during the opening session of the 2nd Ashes Test on Wednesday.

The opening day was marred with controversial scenes after two protestors from 'Just Stop Oil' Movement invaded the proceedings and sprinkled orange powder close to the 22-yards.

While the security tried to get hold of the intruders, England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow was having none of it as he lifted one of the two men on his shoulder and carried him off the ground.

The video and pictures of Jonny lifting the intruder have gone viral since then, with memes flooding social media.

Ashwin, who was keenly following the proceedings, took to his Twitter account to share the video of the same:

"Good start to the 2nd test. Bairstow has done some heavy lifting already," read Ashwin’s tweet.

Meanwhile, the Marylebone Cricket Club condemned the incident, with CEO Guy Lavender releasing an official statement on the same.

The club also informed on Twitter that three men have been taken into the custody by the local police.

Talking about the 2nd Test at Lord's, Australia are in a strong position, with 339 for 5 on the board on the opening day. Steve Smith is unbeaten at 85.
