On Monday, December 30, India suffered a heavy defeat against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and now trail the series 1-2. It was a frustrating day for the Indian players as they were heading for a draw, but the visitors lost seven wickets in the final session to lose the MCG Test.

The senior stars were once again under the scanner as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli failed to rise to the occasion and regain their lost mojo. Meanwhile, former India spinner R Ashwin also landed in hot waters after he made an alleged dig at Rohit Sharma.

Notably, the right-arm off-spinner took to Twitter, where he wrote, "Good leaders emerge when they show resolve for a scrap."

It created a storm on social media platforms as fans thought it was a dig at Rohit's poor run with the bat. Notably, the skipper has averaged just 6 in this series.

However, in the latest events, Ashwin has issued a clarification on his earlier tweet and shrugged off making any remarks against Rohit Sharma. Rather, he stated that his remarks were for Yashasvi Jaiswal.

He also made a tweet where it indicated that his earlier tweet might have been directed for Rohit Sharma.

R Ashwin Keeps Up With His Promise To Indian Team

Ashwin hogged the internet after the end of 3rd Test as the right-arm off-spinner shockingly announced his retirement from international cricket. During his retirement speech, Ashwin had promised that he would be regularly watching Indian team's performance.

Even during day 5 of the 4th Test, Ashwin was regularly posting his views on the happenings in the match and did not hold back from expressing his views.
