After suffering a lean patch between 2019 and 2022, former India captain Virat Kohli has regained his lost touch and is dishing out runs in 2023 with ease. Kohli last week registered his 29th Test and 76 international century in his 500th match for India, becoming the fourth Indian player to reach this milestone.

However, during Kohli's lean patch, a lot was said and written about the modern-day master regarding his failures, which compared to others were still way better.

Former West Indies pacer Curtly Ambrose, who has scalped over 360 international wickets, explained that Kohli's recent rut is nothing unknown, even greats like Sachin Tendulkar, and Sir Vivian Richards had to suffer them.

Speaking to Rev Sports, the tear-away-fast bowler explained that every batter is vulnerable, and more so at the start of their innings, no matter the greatness.

Here's what Ambrose said

"As great as Sir Viv was, he’s been dismissed for low scores. As great as Sachin Tendulkar was, he’s been dismissed for low scores. All great batsmen have gone through low scores. I’m not one of those guys who would talk about weak here or weak there, or vulnerable here, all batsmen can be dismissed,"

The 59-year-old additionally applauded the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper disciple towards fitness, which has enabled the batter to scale unprecedented heights across all formats.

Meanwhile, Kohli will be seen in action today when India and West Indies clash in the first of three One-Day Internationals (ODI) at Barbados.
