Punjab Kings fast bowler Kagiso Rabada recently praised teammate Arshdeep Singh over the youngster’s reliability factor in bowling the tougher overs.

Despite being the most experienced fast bowler of Punjab Kings’ pace attack, Rabada has been tasked to complete his four overs earlier than usual this IPL 2024 season, thus leaving Arshdeep to deliver at the death. Moreover, the Proteas star has also emerged as captain Shikhar Dhawan’s first change-up choice, with Arshdeep and Sam Curran sharing the new-ball in the powerplay.

During a recent interview, the legendary South African paceman opened up on his flexibility as a bowler in the team and also heaped a significant praise on India’s young speed gun Arshdeep Singh.

Kagiso Rabada claims he’s ready to bowl anywhere

During an interview with the Hindustan Times, Kagiso Rabada said that he is ready to bowl at any situation, depending upon the requirement of the Punjab Kings team management. The cricketer did claim that he might return to bowl at the top or at the death at some stage later in the tournament. He said:

“I guess it's the role that the coach gave to me. And yeah, I mean, I would be exposing why they were wanting to do it. I'm ready to go always. Whenever the team needs me, in every situation, whether it's first change, whether it's opening, or at the death. I think the coach knows that so that could change in the tournament could change from game to game."

Kagiso Rabada also praised Arshdeep Singh for punching out for the team during tense stages of the game.

“He (Arshdeep) has become a bowler that teams depend on. And that shows signs of a bowler who knows what he's doing and a bowler who delivers when he's under pressure. That's just what he's becoming as time goes on. Without putting too much pressure on the guy. He's just 24… I mean, he must just enjoy his cricket. Too many times people put this huge expectation on players, especially when they're young and they just enjoying the cricket."

Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh will soon be seen spearheading the Punjab Kings attack alongside Sam Curran against Gujarat Titans in match number 17 of the IPL 2024 season.

The much-awaited contest against Shubman Gill and co. will be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4.
