Ex-India pacer, RP Singh who was India's highest wicket-taker in India's inaugural T20 World Cup triumph with 12 wickets, just behind Umar Gul's 13 in the tournament in 2007 has opened up about how India should strategize their pace bowling, especially death in the upcoming mega event.

In an exclusive interview with PTI, the former India bowler has called Jasprit Bumrah as India's mainstay at the death and has suggested Rohit Sharma to use Arshdeep Singh alongside Bumrah while keeping Mohammad Siraj as their opening pacer.

"Death bowling is crucial in T20 cricket. Bumrah may bowl three overs in the death. He is our mainstay there. My preference alongside Bumrah in the death is Arshdeep over Siraj because of his variations. Siraj can be impactful when he is bowling with the new ball. Otherwise, it should be Bumrah and Arshdeep," said the 38-year-old.

The Indian trio, coming into the tournament have had a decent preparation time during the Indian Premier League (IPL), although, having different success rate. Bumrah finished third in the purple cap rankings with 20 wickets, Arshdeep took 19 wickets and Siraj ended the tournament with 15 wickets.

The trio will play together for the first time in months on June 1, against Bangladesh in the warm-up followed by tournament opener against Ireland on 5th.
