Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli is optimistic about Rohit Sharma's performance in the much-anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. Kohli's confidence stems from Rohit's impressive century at The Oval during India's previous tour in 2021.

During India's tour of England in 2021-22, Rohit Sharma made a significant impact as an opener in Test matches. Throughout the 2021 tour, Rohit amassed a total of 368 runs in four Tests, demonstrating his exceptional skills. One of his standout performances was a magnificent knock of 127 runs, adorned with 14 boundaries and a six, achieved at The Oval, highlighting his prowess in the game.

In a video release on the official website of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Kohli lauded Rohit's temperament, acknowledging the challenges faced by an opener, and expressed his enjoyment of watching Rohit's performances from the other end. Kohli expressed hope that Rohit can replicate his exceptional performance at The Oval in the upcoming final, setting the stage for a thrilling contest between the two cricketing giants.

"The way he performed in tests in the last few years has shown the testimony of his temperament and opening is a tough job and he did a great job, he has performed well in all formats, enjoy watching him especially from other end and hopefully he can repeat his performance what he did in Oval in last time,"  Virat Kohli told ICC.

With Kohli's vote of confidence and Rohit's proven track record, all eyes will be on the Indian skipper as he aims to replicate his past heroics and lead his team to glory in the crucial WTC final clash against Australia.
