Star New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr has been once again roped in by the Mumbai Indians Women franchise for the upcoming WPL 2026 season. On the day of the auction event, the Mumbai Indians management acquired Kerr for a massive price of Rs. 3 crores, outbidding UP Warriorz in the process.

It is worth noting that Amelia Kerr has been a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise since the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2023. Moreover, she also played key roles in each of Mumbai Indians’ title triumphs of 2023 and 2025.

Amelia Kerr has a special message for Mumbai Indians fans

After getting released by the Mumbai Indians Women franchise, New Zealand all-rounder and franchise veteran Amelia Kerr has been roped back by the two-time WPL-winning team. On Thursday, November 27, i.e., on the day of the WPL 2026 auction, Kerr was re-acquired by the Mumbai Indians Women franchise for a staggering sum of Rs. 3 crores, thus accounting 52 percent of their total purse.

Reacting to the news, the 25-year-old shared a special message for all Mumbai Indians fans. As shared by the Mumbai Indians franchise on social media, Amelia Kerr said:

“Can’t wait to be back at Mumbai with the MI family. Absolutely loved my last three years there, so excited to be back. Amelia Aali Re!”

Earlier this year during the WPL 2025 season, Amelia Kerr managed to score just 73 runs in eight innings at an abysmal average of 9.12. However, the all-rounder made up for her batting struggles with the ball, picking up 18 wickets in 10 innings at 15.94, which included match-winning figures of 2-25 against Delhi Capitals Women in the final.

She also aggregated 149 runs with the bat in just seven innings, and 15 wickets with the ball during Mumbai Indians’ title victory in the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2023. Overall, Amelia Kerr has charted 437 runs in her WPL career at an average of nearly 25, all while harvesting 40 wickets in just 29 innings at 17.90.

For WPL 2026, she is set to join her past teammates like Hayley Matthews and captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
