Cricket is already a highly taxing sport, mentally and physically, which puts immense pressure on players to constantly play their best day in and day out. The ongoing Asia Cup 2023 has been quite grueling for players, given the constant rain breaks in the Sri Lankan leg of the competition.

Especially for India, who were in the field for successive three days, firstly playing against Pakistan on Sunday (Aug 10) and Monday (Aug 11), and then going up against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (Aug 12).

With rain interrupting play after India's innings, the game against Pakistan on Saturday shifted to a reserve day (Monday). Thankfully, India ended up winning both their matches, one of which was convincing, while the other went down the wire.

Captain Rohit Sharma after India's nail-biting win over Sri Lanka, shared a post highlighting his team's rigorous schedule for the past three days. Sharma's post was short and simple, which said, " 3 Days. 2 Matches. 2 Wins. Good Night. 😴

Meanwhile, India have qualified for the final and awaits the winner of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, who will join them in the title match on Sunday. However, Sharma and Co. will be in action against Bangladesh on Friday, in their final Super 4s match.

Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul also highlighted that Indian players did feel physically challenged playing cricket for straight three days.

"It was amazing throughout. It was a physical challenge for us. The conditions were not ideal. it tested us a lot and I think I was happy to see the intensity of all of us. Obviously happy to contribute to the team. Wanted to give partnerships for the team. I was out for 4-5 months so will take it whatever it comes. Me and Ishan had a good partnership and Rohit and Shubman started it. We were 30 runs short I felt. It's been good."

India would now be seen playing against Shakib Al Hasan's Bangladesh on Friday in the final match of the Super 4 leg at Colombo.
