The much-awaited IPL 2024 final will take place at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), easily the two most deserving sides of the season, will go up against each other in an attempt to lift the prestigious title.

So before two heavyweight sides, led by Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins respectively, collide for an elusive glory, let's talk about what will happen in the worst-case scenario. We have seen numerous IPL 2024 contests washed out, if not abrupt interruptions, due to unpleasant weather conditions this year.

If the same thing occurs on Sunday evening in Chennai, who will be declared the winner of the ongoing edition?

Who Will Win IPL 2024 If KKR Vs SRH Gets Called Off Due To Rain?

Well, there is no need to worry about it, IPL fans. The BCCI has already taken preventive measures. There is a reserve day in place for the final, and even if the match gets interrupted due to unpleasant weather on Sunday and there is no way for resumption, it will 'start afresh' on Monday even if few overs were bowled. Nevertheless, the cut-off time will be extended up to 120 minutes on the scheduled day to ensure a complete match.

So, in case you assume that KKR were table toppers, and could lift the title if there is rain in Chennai on Sunday, you are wrong. It could not have been fair anyway, given that IPL 2024 has been a two-month-long journey for both KKR and SRH, and they deserve a shot in the final to prove themselves as an outright winner.

However, if there is no option for a complete match on reserve day either, the team with more points at the end of the league stage will be declared the winner, making Shreyas Iyer and his boys the champions.
