Ibrahim Zadran from Afghanistan is one of those extraordinary talents, who not only made it to the team but also recorded the highest individual score for Afghanistan in the history of the ODI World Cup. 

Today, in the ongoing clash between Australia and Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran played an exceptional knock of 129 runs and became one of the youngest players to register a century against the mighty Australian team, joining the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Quinton De Kock.

In the NatWest series between Australia, England and Bangladesh, Mohammad Ashraful was one of the youngest players in the Bangladesh team. In six matches of the tri-nation series, Bangladesh could manage to win just one game, the one where Ashraful played a blistering knock of 100 runs against the likes of Australia's Jason Gillespie, Glenn McGrath and Brad Hogg. He is still the youngest batter to smash a hundred against Australia, as he was just 20 years 282 days old back then.


21 years 138 days - Sachin Tendulkar (India), 1994

This was just a starting of the love affair between Sachin Tendulkar and the Australian team. Back in 1994, Sachin played a classic knock of 110 runs off 130 deliveries against the best bowling lineup of the Australian team which included the likes of Glenn McGrath, Steve Waugh, Craig McDermott, and Shane Warne. Being just 21 year old, Sachin became the youngest Indian to score a ton against Australia and the second youngest in the world.


21 years 309 days - David Gower (England), 1979

At one of the biggest stadiums in the world, Melbourne Cricket Stadium, David Gower from England smashed 101 off 100 deliveries and helped his team reach a respectable total of 216. Although his hundred went in vain as Australian team chased the target with a couple of half-centuries from the Australian batters with 10 balls remaining, but David became the youngest English player to score a century against the Aussies. 


21 years 330 days - Ibrahim Zadran (Afghanistan), 2023

Ibrahim Zadran, who is having a great year with the bat, played a blistering knock of 129 runs off 143 deliveries and helped Afghanistan post a decent total of 291 against the mighty Aussies. Not only he becomes one of youngest players to score a century against Australia but also became the one to smash the highest individual score from Afghanistan at the World Cup. The whole Afghanistan team along with Ibrahim will be cherishing this knock for a long time. 


21 years 341 days - Quinton De Kock (South Africa), 2014

The southpaw from South Africa, Quinton De Kock's habit of smashing the Aussies is still intact even after nine years as he recently smashed a century in against them in the ongoing World Cup 2023. Back in 2014, the 21 year old Quinny smashed his first hundred against the Australian team and became one of the youngest batters to score a hundred against them. Although, it was for a losing cause but he has been a prolific for the Proteas over all these years.
