Former Pakistan captain and one of the most explosive all-rounders in cricket, Shahid Afridi during his days was known for his big-hitting abilities. Having featured in as many as seven Asia Cup editions between 1997 and 2014, Afridi left his own stamp hitting 26 sixes in just 23 matches, including consecutive sixes against Ravichandran Ashwin in the 2014 semi-final, helping his side notch a memorable win.

2. Sanath Jayasuriya (23)

Known for changing batting in One-Day cricket, Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya's name should not come as a surprise. The devastating left-handed batter tore apart bowling opposition without breaking a sweat, as seen in the 2008 edition, where he scored 378 runs. The 'Matara Mauler' slammed 23 sixes in 25 matches between 1990 and 2008, scoring 1,220 runs, also a record for the leading run-scorer in the tournament's history.

3. Suresh Raina (18)

The ever-dependent for India in the late 2000s, Suresh Raina, comes in third on the list of most sixes in the Asia Cup (ODI). In his maiden continental competition in 2008, Raina ended as India's leading run-getter with 372, just six runs behind Jayasuriya (378). Overall, in 13 matches, the left-handed middle-order batter struck 18 sixes, with 547 runs under his belt from 2008 to 2012.

4. Rohit Sharma (17)

Current all-format captain Rohit Sharma's only major multinational trophy came in 2018 when the opener took India to victory in Asia Cup. Sharma made his tournament debut in 2008 and remains one of the rare Indian players to play in Pakistan. Fifth-highest run-getter in Asia Cup (ODI) history, with 745 runs, Sharma has hit 17 sixes and in all probability will surpass Raina in the coming days.

5. Sourav Ganguly (13)

Former captain Sourav Ganguly, who changed India's mindset in cricket post the match-fixing fiasco, rounds off an impressive Top Five list sans MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Virender Sehwag. Ganguly, featured in three editions, which include two as captain (2000 and 2004), scored 518 runs in 13 matches, with 13 sixes. The former BCCI president led India in the 2004 Asia Cup Final, where Sri Lanka prevailed by 25 runs.
